Stock Market Update: The stock market closed with a sharp fall on the first day of the week i.e. Monday (March 21). The Sensex and Nifty fell nearly 1 percent. The Sensex closed with a fall of 571.44 points or 0.99 percent and the index was able to close at 57,292.49. The Nifty, on the other hand, traded at 50 and a red mark. The Nifty closed 169.45 points, or 0.98 percent, lower at 17,117.60. 1518 shares were traded and 1919 were sold in today’s trading session. Apart from this, there is no change in 140 shares.

Speaking of Nifty’s top losers, Grasim Ind, Britannia Ind, Tata Consumer and Tata Consumer were on the list and Coal India, Hindalco Ind, UPL Limited and ONGC were among the top gainers.
