NSE case: Chitra Ramakrishna’s troubles escalate, CBI interrogates, lookout circular issued

NSE case: In the NSE case, the CBI has issued a lookout circular against Chitra Ramakrishna to prevent her from fleeing abroad.

NSE case: CBI on Friday questioned former NSE CEO Chitra Ramakrishna in the National Stock Exchange (NSE) co-location case. A lookout circular was also issued against Chitra Ramakrishna in the case, officials said. So that they cannot flee the country.

The CBI said a lookout circular has also been issued against another former NSE CEO Ravi Narayan and former CEO Anand Subramanian in the same case.

The Income Tax Department raided

Earlier on Thursday, the Income-tax department also raided the house of Chitra Ramakrishna, former MD and CEO of NSE. He is accused of leaking information to a yogi living in the Himalayan range.

The CBI registered the case

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a case against Sanjay Gupta, owner and promoter of Delhi-based OPG Securities Pvt. The CBI is also investigating the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and NSE, Mumbai officials and other unidentified persons in the same case.

The scope of the investigation may increase

The action was taken after the SEBI found that there were serious flaws in Ramakrishna’s work and ethical conduct. Apart from SEBI, CBI, Income Tax Department and Enforcement Directorate are also conducting separate investigations. SEBI has also taken action against Anand Subramaniam, former COO of NSE. A fine of Tk 3 crore has been imposed against him. At the same time, Chitra Ramakrishna was also fined Tk 3 crore and Ravi Narayan was fined Tk 2 crore. The scope of the Income Tax Department’s investigation may increase. ED (Enforcement Directorate) may also be involved.
