Delhi riots: The Delhi High Court has registered an FIR against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Anurag Tagore, Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Bhadra, Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia and others for their hate speech. Issued their notice on Monday. A petition has been filed alleging that the riots in February 2020 were due to the hate speech of these leaders.

The petition seeks to register an FIR against these leaders and to launch an investigation against them. A bench of Justice Siddharth Mridul and Justice Anup Kumar Mendiratta, hearing a number of petitions related to the 2020 riots in North East Delhi, issued notices to all the proposed respondents against whom action has been requested on the appeal.

Sheikh Mujtaba Farooq has filed an implementation petition seeking registration of an FIR against Union Minister Anurag Tagore, BJP leaders Kapil Mishra, Parvesh Verma and Abhay Verma for making hate speech.

The other petition was filed by Congress leader Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Bhadra, Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, Aam Aadmi Party MLA Akbaruddin Waisi and AIMID. , Mehmud Pracha, Harsh Mandar. , Mufti Mohammad Ismail, Swara Bhaskar, Umar Khalid, BG Coles Patil and others for making hate speech.

“We have to give them a chance before we can side,” the High Court said. We can’t party to it if they oppose it. Notably, police said in its affidavit that the riot investigation had so far found no evidence that political leaders had incited or were involved in the violence. Now the next hearing of the case will be on March 22.
